Just Wondering

Mark Watson wonders...

What ever happened to basic old fashion American values that I would summarize as "take what you need and leave something for other people"
Please remind me. Which period in American history did we exhibit this value?

Well, I am older than you :-) Maybe a by-gone age?

Seriously, it seems to me that the general lusting after material crap keeps getting worse in the U.S. I blame it a little on very skillful advertising. Anyway, I stand by my opinion that USians used to be more generous and giving.
