Well, this is a necessary development. It is not always bad as you will see. In Australia, the High Court ruled in Perre v Apand that the economic loss which arose when a neighbouring farmers seeds cross-pollinated with this farmers crops gives rise to a liability of tort of negligence.

This means that the neighbouring farmer has to take reasonable care that his genetically modified crops do not cause any economic liability to his neighbours.
