linode.com

The hosting suggestion I rec'd is looking good... linode.com will host a User Mode Linux for you. You simply get root access to your own machine.

I've been using bytemark. It's very nice too, although the RAM limitations are pretty steep in the base level account type. I pretty much would need to upgrade if I wanted to run a PHP/MySQL site. But for Python/mod_python or PHP w/out MySQL it's been fine. You get a lot more disk space.
